Steven Funk is a philanthropist, international entrepreneur, former doctor and surgeon, and leader in the private equity investment space.

A state championship in wrestling, a college scholarship recipient, two East African Safari Rallies, a Baja 1000 finish, 30 off-road motorcycle excursions, a marathon, a private pilot’s license, a ticket on an upcoming Virgin Galactic space flight, a plethora of business experiences, and countless unforgettable stories, Dr. Steven C. Funk has experienced much since his Iowa farm boy youth.

Following the completion of his Masters and Doctorate degrees, while pursuing a career in oral surgery in a residency at Vancouver General Hospital, a chance conversation from a social engagement persuaded Steven to take a one year sabbatical. Residency in one of Canada’s foremost hospitals was exchanged for an apprenticeship with a pair of the country’s most successful property investors, and prolific entrepreneurs – Nelson Skalbania and Peter Thomas. This bold and decisive act marked the beginning of Steven’s successful journey in business.
